How can Scales Plus help with your maintenance and repair costs?

Scales Plus has offered traceable calibration certificates on a large selection of our scales and balances for some time. If you are a first-time buyer or long-term customer, you may wonder what other services we can offer to make your job easier. At Scales Plus, we provide value-added services for the weighing industry through the mail, free technical support, custom scale systems development, and procurement.
NIST Traceable Calibration Certificate
Scales Plus offers NIST-traceable calibration reports on a majority of our catalog and is continuously expanding. Each certificate provides documented proof that the scale you have purchased is working and operates within the manufacturer’s specifications. Scales Plus uses calibration weights that are checked by an NVLAP-accredited metrology lab at least every two years. These metrology labs verify our calibration weights against other NIST-traceable calibration weights, and the results are tracked based on serial numbers.
To order a NIST-traceable Calibration Certificate with your scale, all you must do is check the box below the price on our website, and it will add the cost to the scale. It is worth noting that when requesting a certificate, it takes an additional 3-7 days for fulfillment. For more questions on the NIST-traceable calibration certificate, please contact our sales or technical support line at 616-622-2100.
Mail-in Service
We provide an extensive range of services via mail, including calibration, repairs, and setup. Scales Plus has a spacious lab and repair facility for completing work on most bench scales and balances. Our trained technicians and sales professionals make sure to keep you informed throughout the process. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, this is an excellent option for companies that aren't allowing contactors into their facilities to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
To requesting mail-in service, you can go directly to our Service Request page and fill out the required information. Within 24 hours, a sales team member will reach out to you to get the process started. Our team members will answer any questions you may have, provide guidance on your request's cost-effectiveness, instructions for packaging, and follow-up questions to your request to provide the most streamlined and accurate service. You may also request assistance via the phone, live chat, or email.
Once the mail-in service is approved, we will provide a service number to mark your shipment. After your equipment is received, we evaluate your equipment to create a do-not-exceed quote. We must receive written approval before moving forward with the service. We generally suggest purchasing new equipment if the repair parts and labor are more than 60% of buying a new unit.
In many instances, customers who require NIST-traceable calibration certificates for all their scales have found it to be more cost-effective to mail us their equipment for calibration, rather than call in an expensive over-the-road service technician. We perform all of our tests in a controlled and stable environment for the most precise calibrations. An additional upside to mail-in calibrations is that if the scale does not perform to the manufacturer's specifications, we can offer repair options.
Custom Weighing Systems
Sometimes a standard, out-of-the-box weighing solution is just not up to the task. We can help with that. Scales Plus can help with high-level custom batching systems, base-size requirements, and even environmental and intrinsically safe applications. We work with a wide variety of manufacturers, which means that we have a vast selection of products, technical support, and product assistance at a moment's notice. For questions and requests on a custom weighing system, you can contact us via phone, live chat, or email.
Free Technical Support
One of the most helpful services offered through Scales Plus is our free technical support. Is your scale not working correctly? Have questions about an operation or weighing mode?
